Guess you want to know a little more about Leah’s Looks, so
here’s the scoop…
It all began with the purchase of a “placemat purse”. The last day
of Leah’s fifth and final year as an elementary school teacher, she
was completely mesmerized by the cutest bag she had ever seen.
 Of
course, she just had to have one. So, a blank check was handed over
to a co-worker with a request that her friend, the creator, sew up a
little something for her that was fun and funky. That’s when the
ever so persistent watch of the mailbox began.
Never, ever, did she even begin to imagine how many compliments
would evolve from a simple act such as a placemat being sewn into
the shape of a purse with cute polka dot ribbon for handles. What a
clever idea! Who would ever think of that? Each day before Leah left
home she caught herself making sure the “creator’s” business card
was right at her finger tips for that ever so growing number of
requests. And the light bulb came on!
There was no sewing experience at all in Leah’s past but she knew
that just a few straight lines couldn’t be that hard, right? Her
search began for a sewing/embroidery machine that would help her to
accomplish her goal of just simply learning to sew.
After two entire days…she figured out how to thread the machine…and
in August of 2004, Leah’s Looks was born.
One placemat purse turned into hundreds. Since then, we have added
many unique and affordable, personalized gifts for friends and
family. Our goal is to provide classic items with a touch of whimsy.
